Remarks	[ Hide all but 1 of 6 ] Synonyms were added to RFLP markers that were in GrainGenes in the previous 'X' format. 'X' indicates unknown function for early molecular markers, but was dropped as noted in the Introduction of the Catalog of Gene Symbols for Wheat. Synonyms were added to AFLP markers that were in GrainGenes in maps published after 2001. These markers are preceeded with a 'W'. By adding synonyms to the markers, the functionality of cMap is improved. In Table 2 of the paper the closest molecular marker for QTL for groat % and kernel width on Linkage Group 9 is Xcdo456 . However, this marker does not appear on the map on Figure 1 for 'K/O 9'. Xcdo456 (CDO456) is at position 13.5 cm on Oat-KxO/2003-9 and maps 3 cm 'south' of ACOR209A on Oat-2009-KxO_9. For this GrainGenes map set, CDO456/Xcdo456 has been added to Oat-2001-KxO-QTL_9 at 13.5 cm. In Table 2 of the paper the closest molecular marker for QTL for kernel area and length on Linkage Group 17 is Xumn441a . However, this marker does not appear on the map on Figure 1 for 'K/O 17'. In 'Oat, KxO' from 1995, Xumn441a was centered between Xcdo608B and Xcdo1340. Using this relative position, Xumn441a was added to Oat-2001-KxO-QTL_17 at 12.0 cm. In Table 2 of the paper the closest molecular marker for QTL for kernel length on Linkage Group 27 is Xbcd1872a. However, this marker does not appear on the map on Figure 1 for 'K/O 27'. As this marker co-localized with ACO193B on Oat-2001-KxO_27, the marker was added to Oat-2001-KxO-QTL_27 at 22.5 cm.
