One of two complementary genes; the second gene, Lr31, is located in 4BS (984). Both Lr27 and Lr31 are present in the homologous chromosome substitution lines Chinese Spring/Ciano 3B, Chinese Spring/Ciano 5B and Chinese Spring/Hope 3B, and in the hexaploid stocks Gatcher, Sun 27A, Timgalen, Jupeteco 73S, Ahnuac and Cocoraque (9441).
Lr27 is present in wheats with Sr2, but is not expressed in the absence of the complementary factor (983).
Hexaploid stock: Timgalen in heterogeneous.
