Abstract
Diallel crosses between 8 winter wheat cultivars (Zyta, Korweta, Begra, Roma, Mobela, Mikon, Almari and Rysa) of A, B and C breadmaking quality groups and differing in high molecular weight-glutenin subunit (HMW-GS) composition were made. From the F SUB 1 plants growing in a greenhouse, F SUB 2 kernels were collected and halves of the kernels were analysed using SDS-PAGE. Segregants homozygotic in all alleles encoding HMW-GS were selected. In cross combinations Zyta x Korweta, Roma x Zyta, Mobela x Begra and Roma x Mobela, homozygotic segregants with high quality scores of glutenin subunits (10 and 9 scores), exceeding those of their parental cultivars, were selected
