Null allele
Present only in some hard hexaploid wheats. Pina-D1b is associated with harder texture than Pinb-D1b (Giroux et al. 2000; Martin et al. 2001)
This allele is now defined as a 15,380 bp deletion versus other possible puroindoline a nulls (Massa et al. 2007; Li et al. 2008)
