Remarks	The SSD lines, parents, and testers, planted in clumps of eight seedlings, were sprayed at 9 or 14 days after planting with a 2 to 3 mg/ml suspension of urediniospores in light mineral oil (Soltrol 170, Phillips 66 Co., Oklahoma). The inoculated plants were placed in a dark dew chamber overnight at 18 to 20oC, dried for an additional 4 h under light, and then transferred to benches in a greenhouse maintained at 20 to 25oC. Natural daylight was supplemented with additional light to achieve 14-h d. Infection type was recorded after 10 d using a scale similar to that of Stakman et al. (USDA-ARS Bull. E-617, 1962).
