Remarks	Greenhouse plantings consisted of two pots for each entry, each containing 4 plants. Temperatures were set to a minimum of 14oC (night) and 24oC (day), with 14 h daylength under natural light. Artificial inoculation employed sporidia harvested from four-week-old cultures of T. indica grown from teliospores collected from various Yaqui Valley locations. At the booting stage when awns were just emerging, twelve spikes of each entry were inoculated with 2 ml of inoculum via hypodermic syringe (Aujla et al., 1980). Each ml of inoculum carried approximately 10,000 secondary sporidia suspended in water. Inoculations were done in the afternoon. Relative humidity (RH) in the greenhouse was around 60%.
