Planting was done at normal time into an excellent seedbed. Excessive rainfall and cool temperatures during the early growing season led to good germination, even stands, and much tillering. Severe storms on July 16 flattened the nursery. Normal rainfall was then recorded though harvest. Yields and test weights were very good. Again, for the third year in a row, only small amounts of crown rust were observed, and levels of stem rust and BYDV were very light and widely scattered in the nursery.
