We had a mild April with no frost in many locations and as a result we had many aphids early with perhaps the worst BYDV symptoms ever, especially in our plots. Late April and May were quite wet. Planting at Rosemount /St. Paul was spread over a five week period. The rest of the summer generally alternated between soil moisture extremes. The end of July produced all time record dew points. We finished the fall and the year very dry. Rosemount had the usual amount of 'natural crown rust' infection, considerable BYDV, some lodging, and otherwise an average year.
