Comment
The earliness allele (Cadenza and Spark) was associated with a subtelomeric deletion containing three candidate genes one of which was TaELF-D1. The lateness allele was from Avalon and Rialto (Zikhali et al., 2016). A QTL for heading date co-segregated with TaELF3-1DL in a RIL population derived from Gaocheng 8901/Zhoumai 16, a deletion of the Eps-1D region was associated with earlier flowering (Wang et al., 2016).
