Dominant (Sutka and Kovacs, 1987)
Rht12 is located distally on 5AL cosegregating with B1 and closely linked to b-Amy-A1. Maps to bin 5AL-23, based on co-segregation with B1 (Worland, 1986).
Rht12 delayed ear emergence by 6 days (Worland, 1986).
Mapping information: Xgwm291-5A - 5.4 cM - Rht12 (Korzun et al., 1997).
The Rht12 phenotype is due to deletion of a 10.73-Mb terminal deletion of chromosome 5AL. Reduced plant height might be due to activation of TaGA2ox-A14 (Sun et al., 2019).
