Abstract
During 1999-2002, experiments were conducted to determine requirements of some new Polish spring wheat varieties and strains to main agrotechnical factors: sowing term, sowing density and nitrogen fertilizer application. Differences were shown in response of the strains and varieties to the studied factors and grouping of the wheat varieties was performed. Regarding the response to sowing term, the examined strains were classified into three groups. The first one was represented by: KOC 5500, KOH 1700, KOC 1800 and Korynta, which were sensitive to each delay in planting term. The second group included varieties and strains tolerant of 10 days delay of sowing term (Napola, Zebra, Zura, KOC 5900); and to the third group, tolerating 20 days delay, belonged KOH 2000. Regarding the varieties and strains response to sowing density, they were classified into two groups: the first one requiring low sowing density (Napola, Korynta, Zura, KOC 5500, KOC 5900, KOH 1700, KOH 2000, KOH 1800) and the second one requiring medium sowing density (Zebra). Regarding the response of varieties and strains to nitrogen fertilizer application, they were classified into two groups: one requiring the medium level of fertilization (Korynta, Napola, Zebra, Zura, KOC 5500, KOH 1700, KOH 1800) and the other one requiring high nitrogen doses (KOH 2000 and KOC 5900)
