Abstract
The genetics of isozyme variants of 11 enzyme systems [acid phosphatase (ACP), aconitase (ACO), diaphorase (DIA), esterase (EST), isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH), leucine aminopeptidase (LAP), malate dehydrogenase (MDH), peroxidase (PER), phosphoglucomutase (PGM), 6-phosphogluconic dehydrogenase (6-PGD), and shikimate dehydrogenase (SKDH)] were investigated in three F2 populations of hexaploid oat (Avena spp. using starch gel electrophoresis A total of six new loci (Acp-1, Aco-1, Aco-2, Lap-1, 6-Pgd-1, and Skdh-1) were identified and described The mode of inheritance was elucidated by chi-square goodness-of-fit tests performed on F2 segregation ratios based on proposed parental genotypes Linkage relationships between 11 isozyme loci were investigated in 45 pairwise combinations Two linkages were detected Estimates of the Dia-1/Lap-1 linkage ranged from 17.62 cM to 36.62 cM, whereas a tight linkage was found for Aco-2/6-Pgd-1.
