Abstract
A yellow-striped plant was found in a common wheat variety in 1939 By crossing experiments it was proved that this is a case of maternal inheritance The variegated plants always segregate into normal green, variegated, and pure yellow in diferent proportions in the subsequent generation Pure-breeding, truly variegated lines were never isolated
