Abstract
Results are presented of a study conducted in Jin-zhong, Shanxi, China, during 1997-99, investigating the effects of cultivar, fertilizer (especially organic) application rate and population pattern on the leaf photosynthetic capacity, as well as yield and yield components, of winter wheat. The study also aims to develop the ear weight potential of individual plant and avoid premature senescence in high-yielding population
