Abstract
A total of 251 wheat cultivars and advanced lines from autumn-sown regions in China, double haploid population derived from cultivars Avocet and Pavon (cultivar with poor and good breadmaking quality, respectively), F SUB 5 lines from the cross Zhongyou 9507//Lumai 5 and F SUB 5 lines from the cross Zhongyou 9507//Jinmai 45 were used to determine the effects of insoluble glutenin content (IG/P) of wheat on the mixograph parameters of wheat flour and the effects of allelic variation in Glul-1 and Glu-3 loci on the IG/P of the crop. IG/P was significantly associated with mixing time and tolerance of wheat flour, and hence is a good indicator of gluten strength. Glu-3 locus played a significant role in IG/P, whereas Glu-B1 contributed slightly to IG/P
