In Japan, R. Takahashi and his co-workers have extensively progressed in the linkage analysis of barley, and, as for chromosome 3, the following 17 genes have already established their linkage relationships:
ac for albino seedling in Colsess Ian for albino seedling in Nigrinudum
al for albino lemma
als for absent lower laterals
bt and bt2 for non-brittle rachis, they are complementary genes tightly linked each other as pseudoalleles
cu2 for curly-2 in Choshiro Hen
Est4 for esterase isozyme-4
gs2 or glossy sheath-2 in OUM 25*
lzd for lazy dwarfness in OUM 5
sca for short and crooked awn in OUM 206
sld for slender dwarf in OUM 148
uz for uzu or semi-brachtyie growth
wst3 for white stripe in Okina-like mutant, and the gene is tightly linked with uz gene
wst,,j for white stripe in OUM 231
xc for xantha seeding in Colsess IV
yst2 for yellow stripe-2 in F5 (Kuromugi 148 x Mensury C)
