I am in the process of acting instead of R. T. Ramage as coordinator for barley translocations, balanced tertiary trisomics, and desynaptic genes. Information on and requests for such genetic stocks can be sent to me (address given above). A large number of translocations and balanced tertiary trisomics in two-rowed spring barley have been produced at Gatersleben. In addition to 400 lines with single translocations, well defined as to the chromosomes and as to the chromosome arms (most of them) involved, more than 200 multiple interchange stocks and about 30 tertiary trisomics, each of these balanced for one of four male sterility genes (msgl, msg4, msg6, and msg24) and 15 of these additionally balanced for a seedling lethal gene, are available. In order to add this material to the World Collections, descriptions will be prepared for the next BGN.
