 Bozeman, MT -- The Regional Spring Wheat trial had 175 lbs N available, with 50 lbs N applied per acre.  There was no irrigation.  Rainfall from April to August was 6.71 inches.  There was adequate moisture with a normal climate through mid June.  However, July and August were dry with higher temperatures than average.
 
 Kalispell, MT -- The Disease Rating Scale is 1 to 3, 3 = high.  The Regional Spring Wheat nursery was fertilized on May 3, 1996 with 310 material lbs of 27-14-0 and sprayed for broadleaves on May 21, 1996 with Harmony Extra.  The disease rating reflects the combination of leaf and stripe rust with all entries displaying some degree of leaf rust infection.  Ratings were taken at mid-dough stage with a scale of 0 to 3, 0 = resistant and 3 = highly susceptible.  The lodging was on a scale of 0 to 9, evaluated as % of plot lodged in addition to degree of leaning.

 Lethbridge, Alberta -- Fertilizer (23-23-0 at 50 lb/ac) was applied in April, as well as the herbicide Achieve Extra (400g/400ml/ac).  The plots were dessicated on Sept. 6 with Gramaxone.  A scale of 1 to 6 was used for powdery mildew and leaf rust.  This data was taken Aug. 12.  Lodging and shatter were taken at harvest time with a scale of 1 to 9.  Conditions were a cool, wet June after seeding, followed by a warm but very dry July and August.  Rainfall and supplemental irrigation from April through August was 300 mm.
